The Walton Centre - Aintree Hospital

Substructure works & external paving

Client: Kier Northern
Completed: ongoing
Value: £187,000
Duration: 6 months

Initially awarded substructure works to allow a small extension within enclosed courtyard. This required significant effort using micro excavators with all excavated spoil being transferred using pallet trucks.

Significant planning logistics with the Hospital Trust due to sensitivity issues with the adjacent intensive care unit. Concrete slabs were pumped using a 60m boom Putzmeister from Pochin – this was carried out during weekend due to access issues.

Kier Northern have been pleased with our attitude to complete the works within the tight constraints imposed and have works without looking for all manner of Works would continue onsite with further contracts being awarded including the Jefferson Ward extension and more recently the MRI extension and external elevation repaving project.
